The images are from deep in the unspoiled back-country of the Olympic Peninsula, located in the far reaches of the Pacific Northwest. Painstaking care and thought went into capturing the image at the precise moment when light and setting combined to produce a truly awe-inspiring and emotive experience.
About the Artist:
Ned Frisk is a Northwest based photographer. He has spent most of his life engaged in the outdoors. His main focus is photographing trees. This project started in 2009, after health issues forced him to pull away from his stock-photography business, and it is now becoming the primary focus of his work. For him, working with the trees has been, not only healing and therapeutic, but a new source of inspiration. They have changed his approach to photography, to seeing, and to being.
The work you see here is primarily from spring and fall of 2009 and the spring of 2010. The images were shot near the Elwha, the Sol Duc, the Hoh, the Clearwater, and the Quinault Rivers on the Olympic Peninsula.
